Paul Staniland‘s research focuses on political violence, civil-military relations, and international security, with a focus on South Asia. He is the author of Networks of Rebellion: Explaining Insurgent Cohesion and Collapse (2014) and Armed Politics: Violence, Order, and the State in South Asia (2022), both from Cornell University Press, as well as articles in academic and policy outlets.
