Sujata Mahajan is a Marathi Language teacher, poet and writer. Her published books include the three collections of poems-which bagged her an award from Maharashtra State Government, Maharastra Sahitya Parishad and other awards, two collections of short stories, a criticism and a novel for children and one translation of a biography of well known kannada poet Mahakavi Kuvempu.

Sujata had worked as a member of Language advisory committee of Government of Maharashtra, also was on Editorial board of Maharastra Pathyapustak Mandal and on the panel of Editors of Marathi Vishwakosh(for Linguistics)
