Maanasa Raghavan

Assistant Professor of Human Genetics

Maanasa Raghavan is a human geneticist interested in human population and disease histories. My research group uses genome-wide data from present-day and ancient humans and their biotic environment, especially domesticates and microbes, to investigate demographic, cultural, and environmental factors that have shaped the genetic profiles of present-day humans. Our research program in South Asia aims to address these broad questions on regional human evolution and benefits from active collaborations with local geneticists, anthropologists, archaeologists, and Indigenous communities.
