Michele Friedner is a medical anthropologist who researches disability in India. She writes about how disabled people work to create inhabitable worlds and about state-sponsored re/habilitation programs and interventions, among other things. She is currently finishing up a book about cochlear implants in India and the kinds of sensory, modal, and social lives they facilitate.
